Monitors revenue cycle performance using standard and customized data sets extracted from the revenue cycle management application as well as data from other applications/sources used in the accounts receivable process. Provides reports and dashboards in accordance with management requirements.

I. Major Responsibilities: 

1. Extracts and evaluates data from Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle Management application, create reports and dashboards to support decision making, compliance and other reporting needs as required by the Hospital Billing revenue cycle departments 
2. Researches existing model reports from Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle application to respond to request for information. Submits report request to Business Analyst II as necessary.
3. Develops data reporting requirements for newly established processes and workflows.  
4. Uses data analysis to support the assessment and the redesign of existing workflows.  
5. Provides trending and root cause analysis of workflows across all aspects of the revenue cycle.
6. Escalates issues to management in a timely manner.
7. Responds timely and accurately for off cycle data requests.
8. Adheres to change control processes.
9. Works with cross functional staff, IT, or relevant hospital departments to request and   improvements to systems and reports. 
10. Maintains control/validation processes in accordance with department standards.
11. Partners and collaborates with other performance improvement teams to facilitate and promote the sharing of knowledge and content throughout departments.
12. Follows all established departmental policies and procedures.
13. Demonstrates excellent attendance and actively participates in a variety of meetings and training sessions as required.
14. Maintains and fosters an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
15. Contributes to the development and application of process improvements.
16. Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with peers, and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the group’s achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.
17. Practices cost containment and fiscal responsibility through the efficient use of supplies, equipment, time, etc.

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Associate’s degree


Preferred:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Three to five years of experience in health care billing, reimbursement or managed care. 
2. Experience with revenue cycle systems, third party contracts, payment policies, claim processes. 
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Intermediate Excel skills. 
5. Previous business analyst experience.
6. Ability to perform assigned tasks efficiently and in timely manner.
7. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people.
