What we do:
The Sr. Technical Product Manager, Aircraft, is responsible for enhancing customer experiences, generating new product ideas, and developing detailed product strategies, among other responsibilities. The Technical Product Manager, Aircraft Systems will have a crucial role in shaping the product or business vertical and steering it toward commercial success. This individual will be responsible for managing the technology roadmaps, costs, introduction timelines, and technical capability trades to align with the product strategy across various product verticals within the company.
In this role, as a product manager and strategist, you will be responsible for identifying key stakeholders and developing strong, trusting relationships with them. This will involve maintaining transparency and integrity to create opportunities for market establishment and growth. You will also be tasked with formulating key initiatives, creating necessary implementation plans, and ensuring the successful delivery of commitments. Additionally, you will work closely with all teams within Supernal and other Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) affiliates to foster strong collaboration and deliver successful multi-modal mobility solutions.
What you can do:
- Own Product Strategy and Roadmap for the Vehicles Management Systems team across controls, simplified vehicle operations and avionics systems or other assigned aircraft systems
- Develop competitive assessment for capabilities and features and work with the Sr. Product Manager to align with the broader vehicle product strategy
- Support the implementation of necessary MBSE-based development structure to incorporate current and future requirements for product introduction
- Determine feature requirements and capabilities that drive differentiators and key technology enablers for migration to next-generation controls strategy
- Work with Technical fellows and the test, evaluation, and certification team to develop strategies for the path of the least resistance to certification and future block upgrades
- Research customer experiences and demands; improve customer experiences; clearly articulate the voice of the customer to other stakeholders, especially engineering
- Generate new product ideas ensuring product strategy goals are accomplish on time, on budget, and according to specification
- Oversee, support, and, at times, manage cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives.
- Manage product road maps and releases using the “whole product” concept
- Understand product selling points and collaborate with business development and marketing to ensure commercial success
- Identify and fill product gaps to meet market and customer needs and collaborate with engineering to weigh product tradeoffs
- Develop product cost, feature set value, pricing, and market positioning strategies
- Work alongside engineering teams to determine the specific capability sets and new technology introduction path for new feature sets
- Work with PR, BD-Sales, and marketing teams to manage product launches
- Act as a product evangelist and represent the company at public events
- Up to 50% of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or a related field required; Master’s degree in Business preferred
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in avionics, controls, simplified vehicle operations, autonomy systems, or similar development, deployment, and transition from zero to 1 and 1 to N in aviation (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
