Lucid is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Global Supply Manager to manage the cylindrical battery cell value stream for all current and future vehicle platforms. This role manages all company business related to Lucid’s cylindrical cell supply base globabally and is responsible for all aspects of ensuring supply continuity. The Sr. GSM serves as the key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time in a cost effective manner. The successful candidate will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.

You Will:
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective cylindrical battery cell suppliers.
- Manage on-going communication channels to ensure alignment on supplier performance, expectations, and improvements.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly to ensure continuity of supply.
- Supplier Performance Evaluation:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, such as quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Regularly evaluate supplier performance against set KPIs and rapidly initiate corrective actions.
- Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions aimed at creating maximum value for Lucid.
- Review and revise contracts as necessary to adapt to changing relationship dynamics, business needs or market conditions.
- Monitor contract compliance and address any deviations or discrepancies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Inventory and Demand Planning:
- Work closely with demand planning teams to accurately forecast demand for cylindrical battery cell requirements.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies and collaborate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and sprint to mitigate any potential risks within the supply chain, including supply disruptions, quality issues, or geopolitical issues.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes that may affect the supply of battery cells and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Negotiation and Cost Management:
- Negotiate commercial terms with key suppliers to drive maximum value for Lucid.
- Analyze supplier costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements; lead the negotiations and drive results.
- Track and report cost savings initiatives and their impact on the overall supply chain budget and vehicle BOM cost.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead the cross-functional team from the commercial perspective, ensuring Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Material Planning, and Production are aligned to the overall commodity strategy.
- Lead and participate in regular meetings with project teams to address issues, share updates, and drive collective goals and objectives.
- 10-20% to visit suppliers to address critical supply issues and perform business and program reviews
Travel:
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience preferable in automotive industry; or Masters’ degree with minimum 3 years’ experience; or equivalent work experience .
- Demonstrated experience in managing a key set of suppliers within a commodity group, such as electronics, mechanical systems, or battery (preferred).
