JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Human Research Technologist.

Do you excel at work with multiple projects and deadlines?  

We are seeking a research staff member to assist with a diverse set of projects related to Human Health and the Environment, radon and its effect on human health, and lung cancer epidemiology.  Job responsibilities may include: develop research data related to the distribution of radon and lung cancer in the Penn State Cancer Institute Catchment area, work with the study team to understand risk factors including social determinants of health. Maintain all laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure good working order at all times for research studies.  Assure the collection of subject data based on protocol.  Serve as liaison with Principal Investigator, physicians and Human Subjects Protection Office.  Enter data in support of scientific papers; develop and organize research materials such as visit forms, spreadsheets, and other documents.  Successful candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills.  Also desirable would be a background in science as well as experience with diverse populations and community engagement, such as dual training in science and liberal arts. May facilitate patient/caregiver support groups and patient research advisory groups.

Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor's degree preferred) plus 1 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
