Pharmacy Director

JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

Position Description:

The Pharmacy Director shall be the pharmacist in charge and maintain control and custody over the possession of dangerous drugs acquired by the institution. The Director is responsible for overall administrative po\icies governing the Pharmacy Department, for organizing, developing, directing and coordinating interdepartmental activities of the Pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Director is an employee of JFK Memorial Hospital and is accountable only to JFK Memorial Hospital in order to maintain confidentiality of patient and medical staff information.

The Pharmacy Director reports to Hospital Administration and is responsible for all salaried and hourly subordinate personnel of the Pharmacy Department at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Minimum of 3 to 5 years management experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy environment.
2.    A graduate of a five-year pharmacy course from a College of Pharmacy approved by the National Board.
3.    Possess a valid current license as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of California.
4.    Individual shall be familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, and clinical pharmacy practice.
