Job Summary:
Provides for the well-being of patients and employees through patient advocacy and communication with Registered Nurses, physicians, other departments and staff. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital and Nursing Policy, state, regulatory and accrediting requirements. Delegates nursing care for assigned patients.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN): Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP): Required
Essential Functions:
- Assists with data collection regarding the employee’s clinical information and communicates pertinent data to the supervising employee health Registered Nurse. Effectively communicates with the employee or significant others while collecting the clinical data. Enters data into the employee health database.
- Collaborates with the employee health Registered Nurses and other professional disciplines to plan, implement, evaluate and revise the process improvement in the employee health programs. Contributes to the evaluation of the interventions related to the process improvement implemented in employee health.
- Makes rounds on all of the clinical units to identify problems and assess need for interdisciplinary process improvement needs that may be identified. Notifies the employee health Registered Nurse (RN), immediately of significant problems or unusual incidents. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.
- Performs patient care activities within scope under supervision. Administers medicine in a safe and accurate manner, monitoring, documentation including patient response, and proper safekeeping of controlled medications.
- Shares and participates with other members of employee health and performance improvement to work on new and current issues.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
