About the role

Description

The University of Washington Information School is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate student to join our IT Help Desk team. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a variety of technologies and to develop essential IT support skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting users with problems related to iSchool and University of Washington resources and technologies (e.g., accounts, computers, printers, network access).

  • Overseeing the iSchool equipment checkout system.

  • Maintaining the school’s computers and equipment.

  • Developing SharePoint pages.

  • Managing other assigned projects, scripting, coding, database, etc.

You'll gain practical experience with tools such as Request Tracker ticket tracking software, Jamf Pro, Microsoft SharePoint, and enhance your troubleshooting, scripting, and other IT-related abilities.

Work Schedule:

  • 15-19.5 hours per week during the Academic Year.

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled Undergraduate student at the University of Washington.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Able to manage competing priorities and stay organized.

  • Proficient with Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

  • Ability to move and lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Basic networking, printing, and computer troubleshooting knowledge.

    • Basic HTML, SharePoint, and WordPress knowledge.

    • Basic Scripting or Coding knowledge. Python is a plus.

    • Work Study eligible.
