About the Role 

Glassdoor is seeking a Sr. Manager, Accounting who is responsible for overseeing a team of 4-5 individuals across the General Ledger and Payroll functions. In addition to managing pre-existing processes, this person will be responsible for building new processes and reconstructing various aspects of these functions. This role will be highly cross-functional, working with individuals across all levels and domains. We are looking for someone who is innovative and thrives in a changing environment. What You’ll Do 

  • Lead and manage the monthly close process, including maintenance of close calendars and checklists, review and booking of journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of results
  • Manage, coach and mentor team that is responsible for cash, prepaid expenses, other assets, T&E expenses, leases, ARO’s, accruals, and expense classification
  • Perform accounting research and provide technical guidance, as needed, while facilitating the accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
  • Manage the monthly consolidation and inter-company reconciliation for our international entities
  • Collaborate with FP&A and business partners to generate, record, reconcile, and maintain accrual balances and assist with monthly budget versus actual analyses
  • Support internal/external audits of the company’s financial statements, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor questions and requests
  • Provide strong oversight of semi-monthly U.S. multi-state and monthly international payroll functions. Ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including but not limited to salary, equity, bonus, benefits and taxes
  • Responsible for ensuring all payroll regulatory filings are completed in line with statutory due dates, and stay current on regulations, benefits changes, and labor laws impacting the payroll process for all payroll tax jurisdictions
  • Ensure payroll processes are in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement within the accounting and payroll function and implement process improvements
  • Collaborate with various teams on system implementations, ad hoc projects and strategic analyses

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience, with at least three years in public accounting
  • In depth GAAP knowledge with knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to proactively and creatively approach problem solving in order to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and time management skills, as well as strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization
  • Must have strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range*: $111,900 - $209,900

  • Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.

Annual Bonus Target**: 15%

**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews
