About This Role

This position will be directly responsible for Managing Accounting for Carrier Corporations Rentals business units, with field locations across the US.  Responsibilities will include all field related accounting, analysis, and support. This role will report to the Controller of North America NA Commercial HVAC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, develop and retain a diverse accounting team

  • Coordinate and manage the month end closing processes.

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries

  • Review all account reconciliations

  • Provide Accounting support to internal customers (Finance, Sales, Operations, Et Al.).

  • Maintain accounting standard work documentation.

  • Perform Rental Asset costing and capitalization.

  • Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analysis.

  • Provide inputs into sales incentive payment calculations and manage accruals/reserves.

  • Prepare ERP Trial Balance for HFM submission and manage all supplemental data.

  • Ensure there is strong internal controls environment.

  • Ad-hoc projects as need by Controller of and HQ management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Leadership or management experience

  • CPA or CMA preferred, but not required

  • 5+ years’ experience in Financial Accounting

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles and internal control procedures

  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP Applications, SAP, and HFM

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management in both written form and orally

  • Adaptable/Self starter

  • Attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to solve business process issues

  • Experience with Infor M3 (Lawson) a plus
