Winnebago Industries, Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill a Director, Supply Chain position. This position will be based in Middlebury, Indiana.

Primary Objective of Position: The Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive supply chain strategy that supports Winnebago Towables Operations and New Product Development. This role will collaborate with other Winnebago business units to identify and leverage synergies that strengthen collective purchasing power and operational efficiency.

The Director leads initiatives to diversify and expand material sourcing to meet the expectations of shareholders and customers, using all available resources to reduce constraints and enhance the effectiveness of supply chain activities. This role is also charged with identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, supporting new product and process evaluations, and ensuring a seamless, reliable flow of materials essential to Winnebago Towables’ ongoing growth.

Additionally, the Director of Supply Chain will foster strong supplier relationships by providing consistent, fair, and timely feedback in alignment with company values and culture.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Partners and collaborates with New Product Development Teams to ensure accurate and cost-effective material costs for new product development. 
  • Investigate, source, and implement innovative material to provide a competitive edge to Winnebago Towables. 
  • Work with suppliers currently outside the recreational industry to expand and strengthen the supply chain. 
  • Work with current suppliers at all levels to bring innovation and strengthen the supply chain.
  • Determine long-term constraints to the supply chain and determine methods for improvement. 
  • Partner with operations to pioneer new processes utilizing state of the art material and methods
  • Collaborate with Winnebago’s supply chain management to expand the scope of improvements.
  • Manages transportation, logistics, freight, and duty for compliance and for cost savings. 
  • Supplier Development – in partnership with Quality – assists in the development of a robust supplier performance and development process that includes scorecards, performance reviews/continuous improvement activities and a standardized chargeback. 
  • Partners and collaborates with all functions – sales, product management, design, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, finance, and maintenance to provide the best support and a high-level of teamwork.
  • Procurement options, including tactical purchasing practices, sourcing of direct and indirect materials and services, category and supplier strategy development, and execution of sourcing best practices and achievement of New Product Development targets.
  • Inventory Management Performance across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Material Cost Productivity, including PPV (Purchase Price Variance)
  • Inventory Metrics such as turns and days on hand (DOH)
  • Perpetual Inventory Accuracy
  • Oversees procurement operations while driving continuous improvement in inventory management, performance, and accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need

Education & Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence / motivate teams they may not report to directly
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with internal and external colleagues
  • Strong financial business acumen with ability to tie operational actions to financial and business results and objectives
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in ERP business systems (NetSuite experience preferred)
  • Ability to develop and execute overall supply ch
