Production Planner (Fluent Mandarin)

Job Description Overview: The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and planning production schedules to ensure that products are manufactured in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role involves working closely with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to align production activities with business objectives and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Ensure that production schedules are feasible and align with manufacturing capabilities and constraints.
- Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, and production issues.
Coordination and Communication
- Collaborate with production managers, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure all necessary resources, such as materials and labor, are available for production.
- Communicate production plans and schedule changes to relevant stakeholders, including production, sales, and customer service teams.
- Act as a liaison between different departments to resolve scheduling conflicts and issues.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure they meet production needs without excess.
- Work with procurement to manage inventory replenishment and maintain optimal stock levels.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports on production status, schedule adherence, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes and overall operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices and use advanced planning tools to optimize production planning.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure production plans comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of production plans, changes, and related activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in using planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Required bilingual in English and Mandarin to communicate with HQ Taiwan Engineering team
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in production and inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) tools.
Work Environment: The Production Planner typically works in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. The role may require occasional visits to the production floor to monitor operations and address planning issues.
