SUMMARY OF POSITION
The CNC Maintenance Technician works with all elements involved in maintaining CNC machines to OEM standards. This involves overseeing the health of all CNC machines and participating in TPM events. Provide detailed reports on all work orders.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Replace Spindles when needed.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) per schedule.
• Responsible to maintain all systems on CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Chiller systems, A/C Systems, and Hydraulic systems.
• Rebuild Rotary Heads and Gearboxes.
• Square up and realign 5-axis CNC Machines.
• Provide reports and documentation of repairs.
• Research problems with machine manufacturer as needed.
• Adherence to 6S System.
• Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
• 6+ months of scheduling and report experience.
• Problem solving ability in a machine shop environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Have a high degree of leadership and broad interpersonal skills.
• Able to read machine schematics and blueprints.
• Able to follow and instruct written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent Safety record and training.
• Able to foresee technical and machining problems in the manufacturing environment.
• Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary.
• Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
• Automated controls
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Knowledge of CMMS programs
• Preventative maintenance procedures
• Industrial electrical and industrial PC literacy
• Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance: Though not required of this role, individuals that have current, previous, or are willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain during the duration of employment are preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday and would primarily be local during the business day. However, some projects may require overnight stays as well as out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business.

• While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise level.
• May be required to work overtime or weekends to meet department and business demands.
• Will be working in the manufacturing plant, and therefore must be able to wear the necessary personal protective gear (PPE) for most, if not all, of the working day provided for individuals by the business. Most common PPE includes safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection. More specialized positions may require PPE specific to hard hats, gloves, face shield / helmet, fall protection, protective clothing, and powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR).
