About the Position:

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering and analyzing complex accounting records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and preparing a variety of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in governmental accounting, a strong understanding of financial analysis, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff across departments.

In this role, you will:

  • Administer and analyze complex accounting records in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze general and specialized accounts, initiate transfers and adjustments, and perform account reconciliation.
  • Prepare complex financial reports and summarize financial information related to federal funds.
  • Analyze and verify the accuracy of financial and statistical reports submitted by department staff.
  • Prepare and input data into electronic accounting systems for generating and distributing reports.
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable to balance accounts and prepare necessary reports.
