About you and this role:

The Field Execution Technology Group's Large Project Senior EH&S Manager role is responsible for EH&S performance on all large projects in North America. This role will also have a specific emphasis on Dow's Greenfield / Brownfield EH&S standards. Large Projects in Dow are defined as anything greater than $10 million in Total Installed Cost (TIC). This role interfaces regularly with Sr. Project Managers, Global Improvement Leaders within TES and the Corporate Safety Organization, TES Directors and Operations Production Leaders. This role will also interface with senior leaders of our contractor community. The role aligns to Dow's Technical Expertise and Support (TES) organization, specifically the Field Execution Technology Group's TES Safety Expertise Center (TSEC). Preferred home location for this role is Freeport TX, Plaquemine LA or the Houston Dow Center.

Primary Responsibilities:

• EH&S Performance for all large projects being executed in North America. This includes large projects utilizing Site Executed Construction Managers that are not aligned to the Field Execution Technology Group.
• Analyzes large project EH&S performance data and drives corrective actions and improvement plans.
• Ensures that Large Project EH&S Management Plans meet Dow's Global, Site, Unit EH&S Standards and Requirements, this includes Dow's Greenfield / Brownfield standards.
• Ensures effective implementation of Dow's EH&S Standards (Global, BF/GF, Site) for large construction projects by coaching, mentoring and supporting Construction Mangers, Project Managers, Operations, Start Up and Commissioning Teams and other project execution roles.
• Provides solutions to complex EH&S problems / issues that may arise or be unique to large project execution teams.
• Reviews and Approvals all Dow EH&S Management plans for large projects in NA.
• Assists as needed on execution contractor EH&S Management Plans / Safety Activity Plans.
• Consults / Coaches project teams and Construction Managers on construction EH&S staffing plans needed for the project.
• Partners with site Responsible Care Leaders to ensure alignment with large project EH&S plans and site expectations.
• Participates in EH&S audits on large projects across North America. Assists in the facilitation of Partnership for Life EH&S walks with TES and Operations on large projects across North America.
• Facilitates Root Cause Investigations for Large Project EH&S events / injuries. Specific focus on Dow's management system and strategic gaps.
• Participates on all Root Cause Investigations for Large Project EH&S events / injuries.
• Domestic Travel in North America is required.
• Leads EH&S initiatives aligned to the Field Execution Technolgy Group's goal plan.
• Assists Construction Managers with Front End Loading EH&S deliverables per Dow's Global Project Methodology and Construction Work Process.
• Will assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff augmentation contractors in construction EH&S roles.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking
• A minimum of 8 years experience in Projects / Construction, Large Turnaround or Operations EH&S
• Experience leading Root Cause Investigations
• This role will require frequent domestic travel and some international travel
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
