Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Staff Software Engineer. This position can be filled in Colorado Springs, CO and will support the Sentinel program. 

The selected candidate will design, develop, test, integrate, document, and deliver software for the Support Test Equipment effort. The candidate will have a leadership role in the team as an engineer, coach, and mentor to less experienced team members.

This is a hands-on technical position--a deep understanding of software engineering is required.

Provide SW development for the I&T organization.

Design and define system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems

Identify, analyze, and adjudicate software deficiencies

Perform integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile software development environment

Work with the lead test engineer and a team of software developers to establish and develop test methods and techniques

Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test cases, software test procedures, and automated software test in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

• 12 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 10 Years with Masters, 8 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.

• US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.

• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

• IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Experience with Agile and working in a cross-function Scrum team.

• Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles

• Familiarity with Full Stack application development including API design

• Experience developing database and design

• Experience programming in object oriented languages (C++, Java, Python).

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts

• Experience with UI design and development, or experience Interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation

• Ability to plan, execute, and manage the technical scope, and support leadership planning.

• Ability to work without appreciable direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science or similar

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluen
