We are looking for a Health Information Operations Manager that will be the tip of the spear for our service offering. You will:

  • Serve as the primary Account Manager to our customers
  • Mentor and develop hourly staff and the supervisor team
  • Manage P&L for operations with $3M+ in revenue
  • Oversee delivery of patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Safeguard patient records and manage compliance with all privacy regulations
  • Lead training sessions and provide ongoing development for HIS staff
  • Guide corrective action planning and staff development
  • Own recruitment and hiring activities across sites
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives
  • Participate in meetings with HIM Directors and cross-functional committees
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and operational strategies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information
  • Develop workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Manage time tracking and payroll approval processes
  • Support onboarding of new hires
  • Assist with escalated situations and serve as a resource for staff questions
  • Update leadership on site challenges, opportunities, and volume fluctuations
  • Handle multiple responsibilities across sites as needed
  • Act as a knowledge expert for HIS staff and represent the VPO when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you will bring to the table:

  • 2+ years of Health Information Management (HIM)-related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of leadership experience or 5+ years of leadership experience without a degree
  • Proven ability to lead teams of 50+ members and drive performance
  • Passion for identifying process improvements and implementing solutions
  • Strong customer service background with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating with site leadership on complex issues
  • Ability to travel up to 30% across multiple sites
  • Experience with Provider Care Solutions and ROI (Release of Information)
  • Strong delegation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in accurate data entry, office equipment, and general procedures
  • Able to commute between sites and present to small groups
  • Location: Must be based in Long Island, NYC or surrounding area

Bonus points if you have:

  • Prior ROI management experience
  • RHIT or RHIA credentials
  • MHA or HIM-related degree
