The Clinical Placement Coordinator, Pre-licensure Programs supports the coordination and execution of clinical placement and onboarding processes for pre-licensure students. This role ensures students are placed in high-quality clinical learning environments and meet all clinical site requirements in a timely and compliant manner. The Coordinator works closely with program directors, faculty, clinical partners, and the compliance team to facilitate efficient placement processes and support student success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Placement Coordination & Operations
- Coordinate clinical placements for Chicago-based pre-licensure nursing students (undergraduate and graduate entry).
- Collaborate with program directors, course coordinators, and faculty to align placements with curriculum objectives and program needs.
- Analyze enrollment data and use learning management system (LMS) tools to forecast student numbers, determine placement needs, and submit requests to clinical partners.
- Partner with clinical site coordinators to secure and confirm placements, ensuring appropriate capacity and quality learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of clinical sites, student placements, faculty assignments, and preceptors within designated systems.
- Identify and help develop new clinical placement opportunities to expand and sustain site capacity.
- Generate reports and maintain documentation for accreditation (e.g., CCNE), internal reporting, and program evaluation.
- Support and optimize clinical placement systems (e.g., Exxat, Clinician Nexus, myCE, etc.), ensuring data integrity and efficient workflows.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations to maintain clinical courses, rotations, and placement slots in placement software.
- Enter and update student, site, and preceptor data, ensuring accuracy and completeness in clinical placement systems.
Clinical Site Compliance & Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate student compliance and onboarding requirements in accordance with clinical affiliate policies, university guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with the Compliance Specialist to track, verify, and document student requirements (e.g., immunizations, background checks, certifications).
- Serve as a liaison between clinical agencies and the College of Nursing for site-specific onboarding requirements, trainings, and documentation.
- Communicate compliance expectations, deadlines, and procedures to students, faculty, and staff.
- Process clinical onboarding requirements within compliance systems (e.g., Clinician Nexus, myCE, Scholar, and site-specific platforms).
