Leidos is hiring an energetic, motivated, innovative individual to be a part of our team supporting Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, MD. The Senior Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor works closely with the Program team, CMS Hybrid Cloud Partners, CMS Hosting Coordinators, and CMS Stakeholders to manage, maintain, and optimize application’s performance, durability, and cost to best support CMS and the general public. The Senior Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor will deliver solutions that ultimately ensure that the functions of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace are carried out for the US citizen and contribute to efforts to reduce healthcare costs.
As a Senior Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in advising our customers on their cloud adoption and transformation journeys. Your expertise in cloud technologies, coupled with strategic thinking and business acumen, will enable our clients to leverage cloud solutions effectively to achieve their business objectives.
You will be the catalyst for solutions that are highly innovative and achieved through research and integration of industry best practices. You will influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other cloud partners. You will resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. You will interact daily with various technical resources across different vendors which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer.
Your goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help Leidos ensure delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions with minimal business impact. Lastly and most importantly, you will represent the IUSG Front Office, Managed Infrastructure Service Provider (MiSP), and CMS’ various Product Owners when meeting with the Application Development Organizations (ADO). You will help coordinate the identification of opportunities to provide support, modernization, innovation, and other opportunities for their application.
The current work environment is remote leveraging various tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate session(s) to understand detailed requirements (infra, security, etc.): overview of shared services offerings, introduce managed services available, additional deep dives as requested
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and expertise in CMS Hybrid Cloud Product and Service offerings
- Develop and maintain close advisory relationships with the Application Development Organizations (ADOs) being supported within your portfolio
- Develop and maintain a strong positive relationship with CMS Hybrid Cloud Product teams, including a thorough understanding of the Hybrid Cloud Product team’s backlog and work ingestion process
- Ensure all ADOs supported within the portfolio maintain a strong security posture
- Through weekly/monthly reviews of performance and cost data, lead performance and cost optimization efforts
- Lead all application migration and modernization efforts
- Coordinate and ensure all production readiness activities are complete prior to any major cutovers are conducted
- Create and maintain application profiles
- Coordinate Escalations on behalf of CMS IUSG’s Shared Service Providers and O&M Teams.
- Apply Product Management principles to develop, maintain, optimize, and evangelize various products across the CMS ecosystem.
- Maintain domain knowledge expertise in cloud operations and DevOps best practices.
- Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff.
- Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.
- Develop and Mentor more junior members of the Technical Advisor Team
- Work with CMS and the Hybrid Cloud Manager to develop, prioritize, and groom the backlog of the TA Product Families Service Enhancements and Modernization Activities.
- Become a subject matter expert with CMS Hybrid Cloud and CMS Enterprise Shared Service offerings
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 12 years of general experience or Masters and 10 years. Additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Experience successfully working across multiple vendors
- Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.
- Knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. <
