Essential Job Functions 

The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

  • Become a key member of the Long-Range-Planning (LRP) team at Petco. 

  • LRP team is responsible for planning and managing the annual AOP process from beginning to end, including development and communication of overall process, timelines, specific targets, reconciling submissions to targets and recommendations to achieve total company goals.  

  • LRP team provides support to Strategy team’s development of 5 Year Strategic plans. 

  • Managing and preparation of complex total-company level long-term financial modeling including P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet flows.  

  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with Senior Officers to determine what tools and reports are required to meet the Company’s objectives. 

  • Utilize skills to analyze complex financial data to identify trends that present opportunities or exposures for the Company and make recommendations on appropriate actions as needed. 

  • Understand and comfortably implement complex financial modeling techniques, Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), Net Owned Inventory (NOI) , Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), etc., to analyze various business opportunities or current unit performance in the support of various committees and Senior Management enabling them to accomplish both the tactical and strategic goals of the organization. 

  • Proactively evaluates systems, tools and policies and procedures for opportunities to develop enhancements that reduce time required to prepare output or improve the quality of the output. 

Other Duties and Responsibilities 

Assist the Vice President Finance with special, high level financial analyses of highly complex problems. Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests. Perform special tasks as needed. 

Nature of Supervision 

Incumbent is expected to use judgment to make independent decisions in their functional areas that align with both Corporate and Finance objectives.  They will operate with minimal guidance provided on most functions and assignments.  Incumbent will have wide latitude to improve the processes and procedures around their functions and reports.  

Planning and Problem Solving 

Incumbent must annually plan for the AOP process with multiple dependencies throughout the planning cycle to be accounted for.  Durin
