Position Overview
Performs administrative support functions for the Assistant Director of the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (OPEH). Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Office. Serves as a liaison with program and administrative staff throughout the Department. Coordinates interagency projects involving the Assistant Director. Receives confidential mail and calls, some of which are sensitive and controversial. The Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (OPEH) is a Statewide Office which works across State agencies and is administratively housed within DHS. OPEH’s mission is to coordinate State of Illinois agency strategies and investments and to partner with the community to build a strong safety net and permanent housing for Illinoisans facing homelessness and housing insecurity.
