Responsibilities
- This team is responsible for Fulfillment Network design and optimization
- This leader will design fulfillment capabilities with an optimized network, cutting edge technologies and automation
- They must be an expert in Fulfillment Center design and product flow
- They’ll leverage their design and engineering expertise to design a network supporting design, initial product introduction and full-rate production for large-scale, complex aerospace vehicles
- They will need to create strong partnerships across operations, program, supply chain, and technical teams
- Responsible for the Fulfillment Design team’s vision and execution plans for long-term scaling, this leader will have the opportunity to make big decisions and innovate to improve the customer experience
- They will also be active in evaluating current product value streams and make recommendations to support both Fulfillment and Production Operations
- The ability to operate at all levels to identify root causes and corrective actions and improve performance as we scale
- This role interacts with third-party providers for warehousing material handling equipment, infrastructure and automation
- Provide guidance to real estate and construction teams to design long term Fulfillment capabilities
- Develop a team of leaders and empower them to make decisions independently
- Serve as an escalation point for any storage capacity shortfalls based on product design or rate changes
- Oversee a team of Process Engineers to engineer every aspect of operations the Blue Origin Fulfillment team is responsible for (Inbound, Receive, Quality, Outbound, etc.)
- Work with up and downstream partners to optimize overall work flow from the Fulfillment Team to their downstream customers
- Evaluate current work streams to proactively resource bottlnecks
- Work closely with Enterprise Technology to identify and implement state-of-the-art technologies and manage their implementation across all sites
- Must work closely with regulatory partners to ensure designs meet/exceed the most stringent storage and material handling requirements
Qualifications
- This leader needs a deep understanding of logistics, warehouse, and fulfillment design and must be capable of building a best in class Fulfillment Network to support rapid aerospace expansion
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving ambiguity and high rates of change
- 5+ years of designing and optimizing Fulfillment/Distribution Networks
- 5+ years of working in a highly technical environment
- 5+ years of managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience designing multi-site logistics and warehouse strategies, including the use of 3PL solutions
- 5+ years of design and implementation of automation capabilities
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Compensation range for on-site WA applicants is $174,246-$234,944
