Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative provides quality and consistent service to patients in the practices or calling in to schedule medical appointments and coordinate procedures.
Essential Functions
- Schedule patients accurately and completely and offer appointment alternatives when needed.
- Accurately gather patient demographics, insurance and/or financial information to establish patient's account, financial and billing data for the purpose of expediting third party billing and collection self-pay balances.
- Scheduling duties include the prompt and courteous answering of multi-line phone system.
- Manage interaction from the customer's point of view.
- Ensure and respect patient/family and maintain customer confidentiality.
- Accommodate the diverse needs of patients, families and customers as necessary.
- Assist with administrative duties, including scanning, updating, and registering new patient packets and prior patient records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Working knowledge of EMR software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficient with data entry, PC use and applications such as MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and be flexible.
- Excellent listening and organization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and closely with teammates.
- Ability to adapt to change and meet the unexpected needs and demands.
- Must be accountable, dependable, independent, motivated, punctual, and reliable.
- Strong work ethic and maintain honesty and integrity.
Physical Demands
- Typically sitting at a desk/table
- Lifting demands ≤ 25lbs

- University City - Philadelphia, PA
Additional Information
This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade G. Compensation for this grade ranges from $15.58 - $23.37 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
