Under the general direction and supervision of the Learning Center Coordinator, the Adjunct will instruct classes in their area of expertise.

The Falls City Learning Center is seeking enthusiastic instructors to teach non-credit classes and workshops throughout our service area. Whether you’re an experienced professional, skilled hobbyist, or simply passionate about a topic, we’d love to hear your ideas.
We’re looking for classes in areas such as:
·Leisure & Personal Interest
·Trades & Industry
·Business & Professional Development
·Computers & Technology
·And much more!
No teaching experience? No problem!
We’ll work with you to develop your class and provide support throughout the process.
Most classes are held in the evenings or on occasional Saturdays, and we’ll work with your schedule to find a time that fits.

Essential Functions
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction for noncredit community education and leisure learning classes in accordance with approved course descriptions and program objectives.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages student participation and lifelong learning.
- Communicate effectively with students and Continuing Education staff regarding class expectations, schedules, materials, attendance, and program needs.
- Maintain accurate attendance and class records, submit required documentation in a timely manner, and follow all college policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Promote a Culture of Belonging
Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.

- Provide recommendations for future course topics, materials, or programming opportunities.
- Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization of instructional materials and supplies.
- Support student retention and engagement efforts through informal follow-up communication.
- Provide feedback regarding classroom facilities, equipment, or instructional needs.
- Contribute ideas for improving student experience and program quality.
- May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required.
- Perform other College functions and duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.

- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.
