Primary Job Functions:
The Aviation Maintenance intern is responsible to the Director of Maintenance and assists technicians and inspectors with maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alterations to aircraft. Job functions include assisting with the adjustment or repair of aircraft airframes, propellers, components, avionics, engines, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, and or all other aircraft systems.
Tasks
• Assist Inspector with routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
• Assist with the Maintenance, repair, and modify aircraft structures, functional components, and parts following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
• Provide assistance with the Removal and reassembly of engines following repair or inspection and reinstall engines in aircraft.
• Clean, strip, prime, and sand structural surfaces and materials to prepare them for bonding.
• Inventory and requisition or order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment.
• Communicate with other workers to coordinate fitting and alignment of heavy parts, or to facilitate processing of repair parts.
Requirements
Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. routinely and up to 100lbs occasionally
