About the role


Dart is seeking an experienced Engineering Capital Programs Director to oversee our capital programs and projects. This role will collaborate with the Engineering Centers of Excellence and Services teams to develop, plan, prioritize, and execute capital projects aligned with the company’s strategic plan.

 

Day to Day Role

  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with leadership to align engineering strategies with the company’s vision
  • Project Management: Oversee major capital projects, ensuring they meet objectives, quality standards, budgets, and deadlines
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators for projects
  • Systems and Processes: Maintain systems for managing capital projects
  • Effective Communication: Ensure collaboration between engineering and non-engineering departments
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Keep stakeholders informed of progress and challenges
  • Insightful Recommendations: Provide actionable product and service insights
  • Strategic Communications: Support the strategic communications plan
  • Data Analysis: Contribute to planning discussions with data insights
  • Project Planning: Review and refine project plans with leadership
  • Change and Risk Management: Manage change and risk mitigation efforts
  • Progress Reporting: Report on progress to leadership
  • Governance Guidance: Develop governance guidance while being flexible
  • Goal Setting: Establish and communicate department goals
  • Decision Facilitation: Ensure accountability for execution

 

Core Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering, business or related field of study with proven experience leading the establishment and completion of broad strategic plans for a large engineering department or organization
  • Successfully managed and completed large, complex engineering projects from concept to production
  • Demonstrated record of delivering results with measurable success and a high sense of urgency
  • Experience with several business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance
  • Management experience to include leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult situations
  • Experience effectively presenting information tailored to the appropriate audience
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills, is accessible and approachable
  • Experience utilizing business sense and creativity to develop new ideas, approaches and solutions
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel
