Position Details:

The Opportunity:

As the Dish Lead in Gray W Dining within Athletics, you will be responsible for performing daily duties and actively instructing and leading student employees in both the dish room and the pots-and-pans areas, under the direct supervision of the manager. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness and sanitation, ensuring all responsible areas meet standards, and helping foster a positive, cooperative, and harmonious work environment.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.


Monthly Salary: $3,403 to $4,517 | Range 37 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit AND one (1) year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six (6) months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within 14 days of employment, a Washington Food Handler’s Permit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than six (6) months of experience leading and training employees.

  • General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.

  • 6 - 12 months of commercial ware washing experience in a large scale kitchen operation.
