Launch Vehicle has an opening for a Sr. Principal Data Insight Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Chandler, Arizona.

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Tableau/SQL Business Intelligence Developer to join the Finance Systems Team in the Launch Vehicles business unit.  The Finance Systems Team oversees a SQL Server with connections to various data sources and creates Tableau dashboards to support Launch Vehicles Finance goals and objectives. Our team works with business users to determine business needs; determines the data necessary to fulfill those needs; connects to the required data sources within the SQL Server; maintains those data connections and tests to ensure reliability and speed; creates Tableau dashboards to provide insights to users; and trains users on effective use of the visualizations.  In addition, our team oversees a hub of SharePoint Online sites that utilize Power Apps and Power Automate to manage request collection and approvals. 

In this job, you will:

SQL Server

• Prepare data for use by Tableau, including establishing connections to data sources, and developing SQL Database Views and SQL Stored Procedures

• Control access via Active Directory groups

Data Visualization

• Design and develop interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that are easy to understand and provide meaningful insights

• Implement best practices for data visualization and dashboard design

• Troubleshoot data or performance issues with workbooks and data sources

• Train other users on creating and/or using dashboards

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of professional experience in accounting, Information Systems, or a related field or experience– OR – Master’s degree with 6+ years of professional experience in accounting, Information Systems, or a related field or experience

• Understanding of accounting and general business practices/reporting to be able to translate business needs to visualization solutions

• Knowledge and experience working with business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization applications

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with a variety of customers

• No clearance required to start

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database management and ETL (SQL Server and SSIS experience a plus)

• Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Automate and Power Apps a plus

• Operational knowledge of engineering and business environments

• Defense Industry experience
