Purpose
As a Talent Acquisition Consultant you will lead end-to-end recruitment for senior, complex, and specialized roles primarily supporting Corporate Functions, Operations, & Technology business lines. You will partner with senior leaders and executives from intake, through advising on hiring decisions, ensuring the best talent selection for their team
What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to end recruitment process including communication with candidates, assessments, offer management and negotiation, and exception decisions from the business on salary and benefits.
- Source and attract candidates through various channels and build a pipeline of candidates for critical roles.
- Provide an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience by ensuring clear communication and feedback throughout recruitment lifecycle.
- Organize and assist with interviews, assessments, and screenings, including interview scheduling, systems updates, and reporting initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including HR/business leaders, to ensure alignment on recruitment goals.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Promote and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the recruitment process.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture are essential to day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Financial Services recruitment.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Services recruitment, with a preference for specialization in Corporate Functions (Audit / Compliance / Risk / Finance / Treasury), and/or Operations / Technology disciplines. Direct industry experience in Investment Banking / Broker-Dealer FBO’s (Foreign Banking Organizations) an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, demonstrated interest in Human Resources / Human Capital Management / People Operations / Talent Acquisition.
- Advanced skills in presentation software (PowerPoint), data management (Excel) and sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter) a plus.
- Proven problem-solving skills; analytical and numeric reasoning skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and process management skills necessary to maintain a high-volume workload, as well as a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
