We have an opportunity for a senior principal electrical engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave system theory and design, including architectures, subsystems, components of Identification Friend or Foe Arrays (IFFAs). The successful candidate will employ their working knowledge of IFFA to be a subject matter expert for design updates, IFFA production, and support to resident and fly away teams.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical assistance to Raytheon sub-IPT Leads, Tech Lead / RF Engineer / SME, Mechanical Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer, and support to customers in the form of documentation, instrumentation, training, and other technical assistance.
  • Continued technical knowledge of IFFA build, operation, test, analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, dealings with suppliers (especially mandated U.S. Suppliers)
  • Participate/assist in training other IFFA personnel.
  • Travel to local integration sites and subcontractor facilities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience combined in the following areas:
    • Antenna or radar analysis and hardware design and test
    • Integration and Test experience of developed hardware
    • RF & Microwave System, Subsystem, Circuit, and Component Design, Analysis, & Measurement
    • Product Development
    • Experience transitioning products to production

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in Electromagnetic theory and Data analysis
  • Familiarity with Corporate Feeds, Beamformers, Couplers, & other Microwave structures
  • Familiarity with Stacked Patch antenna elements and Phased Array Architecture
  • Familiarity with RF PWB/CCA Design
  • Strong hands-on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
  • Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
  • Hands-on experience with electromagnetic/RF simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and analytical tools such as MATLAB and Excel

  • Propensity for learning through self-study, and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
  • Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance with interim clearance
  • RF troubleshooting
  • Test & measurement – RF/Microwave circuits and structures and antennas, using Vector Network Analyzers and other RF/Microwave test equipment
  • Experience in product development and production of RF/Microwave subsystems
  • System/Subsystem Integration and Test
