Chief Engineer – SME

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Chief Engineer – SME to support space control systems engineering and architecture efforts in El Segundo, CA under the Golden Dome contract. This position offers flexibility depending on mission needs and will provide senior technical leadership across development, integration, test, and operations of advanced space, ground, and C2 systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead systems engineering efforts across space control domains including space, ground, and command & control (C2).
• Guide technologies through all Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), from concept through operational deployment.
• Develop and manage system architectures and technical requirements.
• Provide expert oversight of system design, development, integration, testing, and operational transition.
• Offer technical expertise in space control technologies such as optical sensors, radar, electronic support, signals intelligence, and communications.
• Support the evolution of space situational awareness architectures and address mission capability gaps.
• Conduct and organize technical design reviews, audits, and system-level engineering milestones.
• Coordinate development of acquisition documentation supporting ACAT-like programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and mission partners to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

What you'll need:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is acceptable with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• SME-level experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of space systems.
• Proven leadership in systems engineering and program management for space and airborne mission systems.
• Strong understanding of space control missions and architecture development.
• Experience preparing and coordinating program documentation and conducting technical reviews.
• Familiarity with ground system design and operations.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to take a CI polygraph.
