Assist Scenic Artist with completing all necessary artwork for sets, props, and projects in the Theatre Scene Shop. Must work afternoons and some evenings/weekends in order to get a show ready for opening night.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will assist Scenic Artist in completing all artwork necessary for sets, props and projects in the Theater Scene Shop.
• Will keep the paint shop clean and organized at all times.
• Must work afternoons and some evenings/weekends in order to get a show ready for opening night.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

Undergrad degree in Theatre Arts, Communications, Film Studies, or Art preferred but not required. Strong experience in scenic art/painting and stagecraft required. Should be considered a master artist. Must have a working knowledge of all areas of a production shop and its tools/equipment. Must be able to follow a design and see it to completion.

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled scene shop and office setting.  It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
