Gas Station Assistant Store Manager

Description

The Gas Station Assistant Store Manager will act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture and values of the Company. They will assist the Store Manager in the daily operations to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance of the company. This individual supports the company's policies, directs and prioritizes the work of the station personnel and works toward improving customer satisfaction. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• May assist in the hiring and training of new staff
• Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
• As requested by the Manager, conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Assists the Manager with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist Store Manager with all daily paperwork including, but not limited to, daily bookwork, ordering and receiving merchandise, inventory, scheduling, cash and shortages. 
• Establish and promote teamwork and delegate tasks to meet the goals of the store. 
• Control inventory shrink. 
• Assume responsibilities of Store Manager when Store Manager is away for an extended period of time 
• Monitor cash control and drive offs. 
• Handle and transport bank deposits to designated bank. 
• Assist Store Manager with the selections, scheduling, and supervision of employees to meet or exceed productivity levels. 
• Understand audits and the store profitability. 
• Maintain compliance with store promotions, plan-o-grams, and correct pricing of gasoline and merchandise. 
• Ensure employees comply with all company policies. 
• Train and coach employees as needed. 
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance. 
• Available to work nights and weekends, as well as have reliable transportation. 
• Attend company meetings and any training that is required for this position. 
• Merchandise shelves, displays, and coolers. 
• Maintain a safe work environment. 
• Provide friendly and professional service to customers. 
• Greet customers and guest as they approach service counter and/or gas pumps. 
• Operate cash register and take payments in exchange of goods and merchandise sold. 
• Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and lottery, and maintain proper accountability for shifts. 
• Ensure the quality and quantity of food items packed or served. 
• Perform regular cleaning activities including, but not limited to, cleaning gas pumps, sales floor, glass doors, and bathroom(s). 
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and vendors. 
• Ability to create and present ideas, reports, and budgets in various formats.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business strongly preferred, but not required.
• Two years of related experience in the industry required.
• Currently have or be able to obtain a Wisconsin bartenders license 
• Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership, and planning needs of the organization preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• May have periods of prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• May have prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
