Veterinary Technician, Anesthesia EJob Description Summary
The Anesthesia Veterinary Nurse is responsible for anesthetizing small animals for radiation treatments, including general anesthesia and sedation.Job Description
Responsibilities will include:
- Anesthetize small animals for radiation treatments, including general anesthesia and sedations.
- Work closely with RTT and Radiation Nurse Coordinator to ensure patients are receiving optimal care
- Assist with anesthetizing cases for CT and MRI when radiation cases are complete
- Work closely with the anesthesia service to ensure quality patient care
- Consult with anesthesiologists regarding sedation protocols
- Assist with sedation in oncology during downtime
- Maintenance of all anesthesia equipment
- Maintain controlled drug logs
- Participate in patient rounds with Radiation Oncology Service
- Admit and discharge patients when needed
- Ensure area is stocked and clean
Qualifications:
- Must be a CVT
- Minimum of 3 years current anesthesia experience
- VTS preferable
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong anesthesia knowledge base
Veterinary Technician, Anesthesia C- 3-4 years' experience as an anesthesia nurse and is certified
Veterinary Technician, Anesthesia D-5+ years' experience as an anesthesia nurse and is certified.
Veterinary Technician, Anesthesia E-8+ years' experience as an anesthesia nurse and is VTS certified.
Targeted Pay Range: $24.50/hr to $40.00/hr.
