Senior Accountant

As part of its separation from Carrier, the Commercial and Residential Fire business is building its Accounting & Controllership department. This presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated and strategic thinker to assume a critical role within the organization. About This Role

We are seeking a high potential, results-oriented Senior Accountant to perform financial and cost accounting activities.  This position will oversee accounting activities for the Commercial Fire Americas Segment, including but not limited to: general accounting processes such as inter-company, freight accruals, consolidation of monthly reporting deliverables and review of balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.

• Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis

• Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control financial resources and compliance with regulations, laws, and reporting activities.

• Prepares, examines, and conforms to procedures for general ledger preparation and project and / or government accounting activities.

• Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.

• Develops and documents accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.

• Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations in order to accurately represent financial standing.

• Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.

• Leads small scale projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business

• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA, CPA/CMA

• Master’s Degree

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Acute attention to detail

• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Hyperion Financial Management system knowledge a plus
