Description
This is a full-time, benefited position working 8-hour varied shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on varied days, including every other weekend, at Scripps Coastal Medical Center Carlsbad HealthExpress (Same-Day Clinic). This position includes both front office (clerical) and back office (clinical) Medical Assistant duties.

Position Description:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Perform patient care services that support the providers and clinic
- Front Office responsibilities such as registration, scheduling, patient check-ins, collecting co-pays and check-outs
- Clinical support by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking exam rooms, point of care duties, immunizations, covid swabbing, and providing patient education
- Wide variety of acute care patients
- Patient volumes of 25 and up per day (sometimes as high as 50)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year MA experience in an outpatient setting
- Pediatric experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience with injections and vaccines
- Experience with PPD (tuberculin) place
