We’re looking for a senior data solution architect to join our ranks. Are you experienced with driving data management solutions? Are you a self-starter and work efficiently while balancing multiple projects? Our in-house Solution Architecture Team is looking for a senior solution architect to provide first-class data solutions for technical and business-centric programs that serves as a digital foundation for Commonwealth.

 

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and planning end-to-end data for strategic projects and programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, and Data Product teams to shape data priorities and enterprise-level data strategy to support the Digitation Roadmap
  • Creating data architecture solutions for projects and data solutions; Generating needed data management artifacts, including data models, dictionaries, catalogues, data flows; ETL source-to-target mappings, and testing use cases
  • Managing the holistic roadmap of architecture change initiatives across multiple projects and coordinating requirements across different initiatives
  • Building and maintaining appropriate enterprise-level architecture artifacts, including Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, classifications to aid data traceability
  • Working with business units to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Aiding in the development and maintenance of the enterprise data architecture, including data standards, policies, and procedures
  • Evaluating and recommending emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics by staying up to date on the latest data technologies and trends
  • Providing training and support to staff on data management and usage

Core Strengths and Skills

  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams
  • Experience in data management lifecycles at scale
  • Experience with various data management technologies from ideation to delivery
  • Comfortable working within agile methodologies; experience using Confluence/JIRA
  • Skilled at working independently with minimal supervision; can organize and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including  strong written and verbal communication, accountability, and time management capabilities
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment using agile methodologies

Additional Skills and Knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with data model design (conceptual, logical, physical); Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and columnar databases
  • Working knowledge of enterprise data management solutions and platforms, including MDM, data governance, metadata management, ETL/ELT, data quality management, and data warehouse management
  • Experience with Azure cloud technology, AWS Cloud technology, and/or Snowflake
  • Experience in infrastructure, information security, or integrations a big plus
  • Big data experience is a plus
  • A minimum of 10 years of data management experience within a consulting firm or at a large enterprise
