Responsibilities

Arcfield is seeking an Electrical Engineering summer intern to support our hypersonic analysis development effort and U.S. Navy Strategic Programs in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  For more than 65 years, Arcfield has supported the U.S. Navy by performing research, development, analysis, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation to assess weapon system performance and qualify weapon systems for the DoD and U.S. Navy.

 

As an Intern, you will join a new hypersonic development project team to learn and provide electrical engineering and electromagnetic fields technical support for a fast-paced, hypersonic research and development effort.  You will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art electromagnetic signal and signature simulation tools for analysis of hypersonic ionized flow fields. 

  • Work in a team environment to plan and accomplish R&D project goals and objectives
  • Learn, develop, and adapt EM grid tools, coupled with advanced CFD hypersonic flow solvers
  • Learn EM simulation tools
  • Publish a summary report documenting results

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma
  • Must be entering your junior or senior year as a student pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics at an accredited university offering a 4-year degree program
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
  • Academic experience with a programming language such as Python, MatLab, or C++
  • Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
  • Eager to learn and participate on a fast-past development effort
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and to prioritize work and meet quick turnaround deadline
