Overview

Viceroy Hotels & Residences is returning to New York City with the opening of Viceroy Park Avenue in December 2026! Located in the heart of Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood, this highly anticipated luxury hotel represents an exciting new chapter for the globally recognized, design-forward hospitality brand. We are seeking motivated, hospitality-driven professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a pre-opening team, helping establish the property's culture, service standards, and operational excellence from day one.

 

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for initiating, soliciting, developing, and negotiating contracts for hotel business, with a key focus on group and corporate markets. This role is expected to drive significant revenue contribution through strategic account management, proactive business development, and fostering long-term client partnerships while serving as a key contributor to the hotel's overall sales strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead sales calls, telephone prospecting, and market analyses to identify, develop, and acquire new and incremental business opportunities.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts while proactively identifying opportunities to expand market share within assigned segments.
  • Develop relationships within the local community and surrounding markets to strengthen and expand a solid client base.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients through activities that include, but are not limited to, sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, tradeshows, and trade association meetings.
  • Conduct on-site tours and site inspections with prospective clients and future incoming guests, effectively showcasing the hotel's luxury offerings and unique value proposition.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with prospective clients while maximizing revenue opportunities and profitability for the hotel.
  • Maintain accurate account information, pipeline management, and weekly sales activity reports.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the local market, competitive landscape, and industry trends to identify and capitalize on emerging business opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering exceptional service throughout the sales process and fostering long-term loyalty and repeat business.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Revenue Management to strategically drive occupancy, ADR, and total hotel revenue.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure a seamless transition from sales to execution and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Actively participate in regular Sales Strategy meetings, forecast reviews, and Sales Department meetings, contributing market intelligence and strategic recommendations.
  • Support and mentor less experienced sales team members through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and leadership by example.
  • Schedule and/or attend sales trips, trade shows, and appointments within assigned markets, including evening and weekend events and functions as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Proven success in achieving and exceeding revenue goals through proactive sales efforts and strategic account management.
  • Advanced understanding of market dynamics, competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and the ability to effectively position the hotel against its competitive set.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and identify revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and results-oriented with exceptional service, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Highly developed negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
