Oncology Customer Service Support Representative – REMOTE 

Pay Range: $15.50-$20.00 per hour 

Schedule/Shift:

Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm PST or 8:30am-5:00pm MTN or 9:30-6:00pm CST or 10:30am – 7:00pm EST

Labcorp Oncology Specialty team has an exciting career opportunity for a Customer Service Support Representative. This fast-paced work-from-home position is part of a dedicated team responsible providing assistance to patients and clients to better understand health insurance coverage, cost and payment options and to answer billing questions over the phone.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in a high call volume environment (averaging ~75 calls per day)

  • Ability to research and communicate complex information in a clear/concise manner

  • Ability to navigate and work in multiple systems/websites simultaneously  

  • Provide assistance to clients and patients, regarding any questions or inquiries related to insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and/or billing

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve reimbursement opportunities

  • Receive and process credit card payments over the phone adhering to PCI compliance protocols

  • Initiate payment plans for patients for outstanding balances

  • Document telephone conversations clearly and accurately in the respective systems

  • Update and maintain records in the billing system, including the review of accounts, payment collections and case notes

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulations

  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Associates degree with at least 1+ year prior relevant work experience OR High School diploma/GED equivalent with at least 3 +years of relevant work experience 

  • Prior Healthcare experience strongly preferred with strong preference given to professional medical billing and collection practices 

  • Knowledge of professional medical billing and collection practices preferred 

  • Ability to interpret and apply understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) 

  • Courteous and compassionate demeanor 

  • Previous customer service experience preferred 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to follow established program protocols and procedures 

  • Ability to review large amounts of data for accuracy 

  • Must be organized and detail-oriented 

  • Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office, and database experience 

  • Medicare/Medicaid billing experience preferred 

  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes highly preferred 

  • Experience with Laboratory Billing and Laboratory Information System (LIS) desired 

  • XIFIN experience a plus 

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
