Senior Firmware Engineering who is a key technical contributor in the design and development of embedded firmware for legacy and new FARO Tracker products. This position is an onsite role that will work out our Exton Pennsylvania facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in cross-functional new product development teams as a firmware design resource.
Documents all design activities (generates design specifications, theory of operations, test reports, etc.)
Coordinates with outside software contractors when needed.
Develops and conducts tests on new firmware designs.
Analyzes firmware test data and reports on designs’ performance versus specifications.
Helps coordinate the release of new firmware designs.
Other firmware design responsibilities may be added in the future as business conditions evolve.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
5+ years of experience
Embedded C and C++
Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Linux Development Environment
Programming on single/multi-core processors for real time embedded systems
Device driver design and implementation
Optimizing embedded software for size and speed
Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Debugging and testing embedded systems
Multitasking/multithreaded programming
Microcontroller Protocols: I2C, SPI, CAN
Networking Protocols: TCP/FTP/UDP/RTP
Basic electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzer, etc.)
