About the role

The Chief of Staff to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a single incumbent role responsible for supporting and executing strategic initiatives under the CTO's direction. This role requires a versatile individual who can balance multiple responsibilities, acting as an air traffic controller for the CTO's Office, an integrator connecting work streams across the enterprise, a communicator between the leadership team and the broader organization, and an organizer and truth-teller who provides the CTO with a clear, independent perspective.

As a strategic advisor, the Chief of Staff provides guidance on technology strategy, industry insights, and leadership development. This includes coaching the technology leadership team to drive growth and alignment with strategic goals, diagnosing and addressing organizational issues, and ensuring timely, effective project delivery. Representing the CTO in communications with executives, employees, and external partners, this executive role also offers insights into the company’s future technology direction.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Chief Technology Organization to maximize their productivity and impact, particularly in terms of core meetings, processes and reporting.

  • Work to drive and support key projects and strategic initiatives and ensure they are successfully implemented, tracked, and closed out.

  • Strong strategic thinking and organizational growth skills.

  • Develops technology-focused strategic plans aligned with corporate goals and strategies.

  • Manages change initiatives and develops risk mitigation strategies

  • Responsibilities may be regional or local in scope rather than global, with a strategic focus of 2–4 years.

  • Strategically reviews and prepares for upcoming weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings, ensuring the Chief Technology Organization’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is equipped with comprehensive insights and materials for maximum productivity. This includes critical forums such as the Executive Steering Committee (ESC), Investment Committees, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Town Halls, and the Product & Technology Committee.

  • Responsible for setting and distributing key meeting agendas, document preparation and distribution to meeting attendees as appropriate. Takes and distributes minutes of SLT and other key meetings and ensures appropriate follow up.

  • Develop high-impact, visually engaging PowerPoint presentations and strategic decks that effectively communicate complex technical information, business objectives, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with the CTO’s vision and goals.

  • Oversee and coordinate all internal and external events for the CTO including leadership meetings, team offsites, and industry conferences; ensure alignment with strategic goals, manage cross-departmental logistics, and liaise with key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

  • Working across SLT to create & update dashboards/ scorecards for reviewing key performance indicators across major CTO projects and initiatives.

  • Manages business case development and generates documentation needed for investment committees.

  • Responsible for tracking and communicating high priority initiatives for the executive and identifying any risks/ challenges.

  • Responsible for driving and actioning key operational matters including risk, audit, staff training, pulse, etc. for the Chief Technology Organization.

  • Supports CTO with PMO, change management, initiative tracking etc, to ensure key strategic initiatives are executed.

  • In consultation with Corporate Communications, draft communique from time to time on behalf of the CTO.

  • Creating systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency and impact wherever possible.

  • Creates and manages critical, cross-departmental relationships on behalf of the CTO as required to help execute priorities.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as an Analyst, Project  or Operations Manager or an aligned role in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions.
