The Product Support Engineer identifies solutions to resolve field/customer issues and concerns as it relates to aircraft system and component products. This position is responsible for the effective and timely support and configuration of IFE/IFC/avionic equipment on various types and models of aircraft to ensure customer satisfaction. The Product Support Engineer serves as a first level contact for the company’s IFE/IFC/avionic customers via telephone, fax, email, in-person and etc. This position also works on a number of projects with partners/vendors and with the company’s internal teams to resolve issues and concerns from the field.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Direct customer facing liaison on multiple topics; including configuration, documentation, maintenance and general support.
- Troubleshoot system, LRUs, cabling, etc., to resolve reported issues and concerns.
- Support an environment conducive to the successful support of IFE/IFC/avionic equipment.
- Work with internal teams, customers and partners/vendors to resolve installation and field related issues and concerns.
- Document reported issues/concerns using our ticketing system, CRM
- Analyze logs and reports to isolate issues.
- Present recommendations for fixes to management and customers in collaboration with the hardware and software team.
- Prepare and perform training for customer maintenance teams on-site
- Lead supplier related issues and concerns to ensure product maintenance and reliability
- Assist in the tracking of spares inventory
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in related aircraft component engineering and/or production environment
- As a minimum, an IT background/ intermediate understanding of networks and troubleshooting network issues.
- IFE/IFC/avionic experience is beneficial
- Computer skills: familiarity with Linux, advanced knowledge of technology in general.
- Knowledge of Avionic and Aerospace regulations
- Prior exposure to the manufacturing of electronic components for Aerospace application
- Willingness to local, domestic and international travel on occasion
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently (as part of a team) with systematic troubleshooting techniques
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Must be proactive, meticulous, organized, and detail oriented
- Ability to efficiently resolve problems
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use discretion and independent judgment when making decisions on behalf of the company
