Description:

This 30-bed surgical specialty unit provides care to patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures such as abdominal, thoracotomy, gynecologic, urological, plastic and vascular surgery. Unique sub-specialties include post-operative gynecologic and breast surgical procedures. These include open abdominal or vaginal procedures, DaVinci robot assisted surgery, urogynecologic procedures, and minimally invasive surgery for a variety of gynecologic problems.

Position Purpose:

Join Holy Cross Health’s Together Teams care model—a 3-person team of bedside RN, CNA, and virtual RN—designed to enhance patient safety and collaboration. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our 30-bed Med/Surg unit, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from surgery, managing acute illnesses, or receiving treatment for a wide range of medical conditions

What You Will Do:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting)
• Support care procedures including catheter care, sitz baths, colostomy care, and more
• Apply care products such as compression devices and restraints appropriately
• Set up respiratory and cardiac equipment (e.g., oxygen, suction, EKGs, incentive spirometry)
• Function in both CNA and Health Unit Coordinator roles as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Maryland Board of Nursing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification

• 1 year of hospital experience (preferred)

Pay rate: $17.89 - $25.04

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
