Director, Finance - Production

Univision’s Transformation team is seeking a Director of Finance to support our Streaming Service business. This position is an integral part of the Finance team for managing our original productions. We are seeking a manager with a variety of soft skills, industry knowledge, and a strong contributor to the business.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Works with VP, Production Finance, and team on Streaming business content portfolio with the ability to understand business trends, foresee financial opportunities and risks, and effectively influence business strategy
- Establish and execute on a vision to develop a world class production finance team, including its systems implementation, policy, and procedures
- Be a strategic partner to executive management, content leaders for SVOD/AVOD acquisition, content licensing, acquisitions, and sports
- Preparation of monthly management reporting, variance analysis, quarterly forecasts, support the annual budget, long range plans, special projects, and ad hoc analyses
- Manage various business models for Sports and content amortization including the coordination with the team to prepare and review greenlight and pre-release ultimates (titles unreleased)
- Aligned and properly reflect in BPC planning systems based on plan, estimates, and long range plan
- Review quarterly participation, residual, and contingent compensation statements
- Collaborative as a cross functional partner with our legal and content team on third party contracts
- Liaise with accounting team to sustain essential flow of information
- Oversight for internal controls over Financial Reporting, internal and external audits
- Supervise a team of 2 financial analyst
- The role is expected to actively engage in transformational initiatives such as the streamlining and shortening of forecast cycles, leveraging new systems and technologies, developing reporting requirements and data visualization as the business evolves
- Implement new technologies that provide the next finance tools and determine best incorporate tools and accounting workflow
YOU HAVE:
- +10 years of experience in a production finance (any content type, experience in Fiction, Unscripted, Alternative, and International Features and Series)
- Leadership experience and managing teams motivated by passion to exceed expectations and to continuously improve yourself, the team, and the department
- Exercise sound judgement and solution focused
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Broad understanding of Production and Finance experience
- Clear understanding of controllership accounting and entertainment industry best practices
- Ability to understand and articulate issues using creative, production, or financial context
- Advanced Microsoft Office program (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge in Movie Magic budgeting tool
- Preferred knowledge of Oracle applications (PBCS)
- Very strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
