Defiance Client Shift: Tuesdays and Fridays, 1PM - 5PM

 


CNA/Caregiver Job Summary: The CNA or Caregiver provides personal hygiene and a safe environment to clients. Priority will be given to providing for the client’s physical care such as personal cleanliness, shower assist, light housekeeping, med reminders, errands, transportation and to the immediate environment which directly affects the client’s health and safety needs. CNA/Caregivers services are scheduled as intermittent visits provided to the client according to the client’s care plan.

CNA/Caregiver Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have valid Driver's License, your own reliable transportation and vehicle insurance***
  • Must have at least six months to one year of professional caregiver experience preferably with the geriatric population
  • Able to work with pets and smokers in client homes preferred.
  • Must possess moderate computer skills, including word processing and data entry
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be a “team player” dedicated to providing a high level of customer service, with a positive attitude
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and possess well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Must maintain required yearly training/education as mandated by agency
  • Providing assistance with light meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, personal hygiene and medication reminders


Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license, your own personal, reliable vehicle with full coverage auto insurance.
  • Must have at least 6 months or more paid work experience working with the geriatric population or similar care and responsibilities.
  • Working with clients with Dementia and Alzheimer's, preferred.
  • Must be able to work with pets and smokers in client homes, preferred
  • Ability to use gait belt and Hoyer Lift preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Must maintain required yearly training/education as mandated by agency
  • Must have moderate computer and cell phone skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:
  • Ability to participate in physical activity.
  • Ability to work for extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.
  • Moderate lifting, 20-40 pounds.
  • Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
