Intern - Electrical Engineer

Job Description

  • Work with an electrical engineer to develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specifications
  • Learn practical electrical engineering principals performing system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application, under the supervision of an electrical engineer.
  • Learn about safety regulations
  • Work with an electrical engineer to specify the electrical equipment required for the complete electrical system that operates and controls both the Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased items
  • Learn to use software tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Word, Excel, etc.) to develop the electrical designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.
  • Learn to document engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions.
  • Learn how to think conceptually (overall system) and translate this into a detailed system design.
  • Be a good communicator, able to effectively understand and set expectations for deliverables

  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering theories and principles
