Job Title: Associate, Date Engineer, Engineer II

Summary of duties: Contribute to the end-to-end data engineering process, including requirements gathering, transformation and integration of data sets, exploratory data analysis, operationalizing the data set, and delivering the data set in the form of a deliverable such as an API or pipeline. Work with complex and varied data sets. Transform and integrate data sets, including real-time financial data and reports, text, and log data. Support the creation and maintenance of optimized data pipeline architectures on large and complex data sets. Develop an automated test suite based on functional and non-functional requirements, determine and analyze test coverage, and develop programs to analyze data pipeline performance. Participate in the day-to-day operations and culture of the team, including daily stand-ups, weekly brainstorming, code reviews, and demos.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree  in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: Experience must include 24 months of experience in each of following: performing analysis or application of data in finance, utilizing database technologies, including Sybase and MSSQL; programming using Java, Python, PySpark, utilizing Big Data concepts and technologies including Hadoop, Snowflake,  and  Spark;  implementing  methodologies including domain driven design; utilizing Agile development methodologies; and participating in end-to-end data engineering processes and support of the data pipelines, including code reviews and testing.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 - $165,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
