About the Role

 

This role provides technical expertise in the study of the earth, including the collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data to provide technical guidance for decision making relating to exploration geology. This role is primarily office and field-based but has flexibility for occasional remote work to achieve work life balance. In this role you will:

•    Integrate multiple datasets (geological, geochemical, and geophysical) with a mineral systems approach to generate, evaluate, and rank Porphyry Cu exploration targets.
•    Effectively communicate potential opportunity value, risks, and uncertainties via written memos and oral presentations to key stakeholders, including management, to acquire project resources and stakeholder endorsement.
•    Plan and execute exploration target definition and testing programs that address opportunity technical risks and uncertainties to support value-driven exploration decisions.
•    Identify, engage and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Health, Safety, & Environment, Land Access, and Corporate Affairs to efficiently and safely execute exploration programs.
•    Collaborate with the Porphyry Cu Generative Team to enhance Porphyry Cu prospectivity assessments and concept generation using exploration datasets.
•    Provide expertise in planning and execution of exploration drill programs to improve ways of working, including core processing and geochemical, geophysical, and geological data collection.
•    Provide mentorship to team members in exploration geology. 

About You

 

•    Bachelor or Master of Science in Geosciences required.
•    Experience in geological evaluation of metals and/or subsurface resources, with demonstrated deep knowledge of at least one geological sub-discipline (e.g. structural geology, geochemistry, geophysics, igneous petrology, etc.).
•    Practical experience in supporting or leading metals / subsurface resource exploration.
•    Experienced integrator with strong communication skills and collaborative, driven, and proactive work ethic.
•    Strong commitment to safety, inclusion, and respectful behaviors.
•    Working proficiency in common industry software applications (e.g. ArcGIS, Leapfrog, ioGas, AcQuire, WellCAD). 
•    Fluent/working knowledge of English is preferred.
