We are actively seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager to lead our engineering team in delivering cutting-edge, cloud-based solutions for Tesco Retail's Workforce Management.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, outstanding leadership skills, and a passion for fostering innovation. Your role will be crucial in ensuring project success, effective stakeholder communication, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for
Manage application performance and asset monitoring (e.g., Splunk, New Relic) for seamless operationImplement security tools (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk) and oversee adherence to security best practices
Create comprehensive technical documentationInspire the team to deliver clean, efficient code based on industry standardsFoster innovation and explore new tools/methodologies
Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and maintain alignment with enterprise standards
Define project scopes, timelines, and ensure alignment with business goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, shaping technical strategy and roadmap
Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
Ensure processes and standards that enable high-quality software delivery
Mentor the development team, ensuring the implementation of best practices, design principles, and coding standards
Conduct performance assessments, provide feedback, and guide career development for team members You will need
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Java or NodeJS
- Expertise in modern testing frameworks and tools, including Playwright. Ability to guide and support test automation efforts
- Comfortable with DevOps practices involving configuration management, CI/CD pipelines and IaaC
- Experience in building and maintaining testing environments
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools (for eg. Docker / Kubernetes)
- Experience and familiarity with Public Cloud platforms such as Azure
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
