Job Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead the implementation of a comprehensive PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Human Capital Management (HCM) solution for a federal government agency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale PeopleSoft ERP implementations, with a specific focus on federal sector projects and a good understanding of PeopleSoft modules.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and scope definition through to system configuration, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and risk management skills to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with all federal regulations and standards. . This is a REMOTE opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the federal customer, stakeholders, and the project team.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Lead the project team, providing guidance and direction to functional, technical, and change management resources.
- Conduct regular status meetings, prepare project reports, and provide transparent communication to all stakeholders.
- Implementation & Technical Oversight:
- Manage the end-to-end implementation of PeopleSoft FSCM modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Billing and Project Costing for Federal) and HCM modules (e.g., Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time & Labor, Recruitment, Succession Planning, eCompensation, ePerformance and Pension Administration).
- Ensure all project activities, from requirements gathering and design to development and testing, align with the defined scope and federal requirements.
- Assist with the best practices
- Oversee system configuration and data migration efforts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with technical leads to manage integration points between PeopleSoft and other legacy or third-party systems.
- Federal Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure the project adheres to all relevant federal regulations and standards.
- Manage all project-related risks and issues, developing and executing mitigation strategies in a timely manner.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained and submitted in accordance with federal government requirements.
- Stakeholder & Change Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, end-users, and external partners.
- Develop and execute a robust change management plan to ensure smooth user adoption and minimize disruption.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with customer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate business needs into technical specifications.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen for our federal client
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of work experience with 7+ years of experience in a project management position
- At least 5 years of experience leading and managing PeopleSoft application implementations in a federal setting (v9.2 experience required).
- Demonstrated experience managing at least two full-lifecycle PeopleSoft FSCM and HCM implementations.
- 2+ years of consulting experience with Public Sector customers
- Experience with technical teams ranging from 1 to 20 technical consultants
- PMP certification is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Project applications
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Understand revenue models, P/L, cost-to-completion projections and be able to make decisions independently, in-line with business plan objectives
- Understand consulting pricing models and billing procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
